I often need to run and orcheck old MS-DOS software in floppy disk images.I tried various workarounds like this one, but they didnt work for me.
Open Floppy Disk Trial From MyThere are certainly virtualisation alternatives around, but many seemed too industrial from my kind of use (e.g. VMWare Workstation, which was only available for 64-bit environments), andor they didnt support floppy disk images. If you want to have a floppy drive image attached to your modern OS though and have software interact with it, ImDisk is a good choice. Not only can it read PC-type floppy images but also CD-ROMS and hard drives. If you want the OS and programs to interact with your disk image then ImDisk will do the job. Open Floppy Disk Driver For MyI had thought perhaps that I might need to download a new driver for my existing FDD to get it to work on the Toshiba but I cannot find a suitable free driver anywhere on the Internet. One is a Mitsumi, the other is a TEAC and the last just says USB. Windows loaded the driver and then said the device was ready to use for all 3 devices. Click Show all devices then click Next, it will take a while to retrieve all devices 7. Choose TEAC Corporation - TEAC USB Floppy, then next. Im reading an external USB FDD isnt recognized plugged into a USB 3 port. Did you try what Liz said in post 6 Including only using a Usb 2.0 port with a floppy drive I would get a cheap one on Ebay, FWIW mine is a Toshiba USB FDD Kit - MODEL NO.
